Fill a new pot several sizes larger than the existing pot. to a depth of about 3-5 inches with a well draining soil. Use fresh commercially prepared potting mix and add Perlite if needed for better drainage. A homemade mixture of equal parts Perlite and peat moss is also good to use. Be sure your pot has plenty of drainage holes in the bottom. Your root ball should have at least twice the area as the old pot.
